Project Update
Well it's been awhile but
here it is.
Before I stripped the car I
added an X Brace across the
front and tower hoops.
This allowed me to install
an alum front beam plus it
added more protection.
(for the NOS battle) and
stiffened up the front end.
I removed the stickers from
the side panel and engraved
flames on them.

I designed a remote sump for
the motor to keep some oil
pressure for those long 50
MPH wheelies. Using a
Moroso reservoir, I mounted
a valve body to it so the
oil pump has to have 65lbs.
to charge it but allows oil
to flow back when the
pressure drops. This
is so the motor doesn't
starve on startup. It
also adds another 1/2 oil
quarts of oil capacity.

The dash panel that was
there was nice looking but
not very functional, so I
started over.
New gauges, switches and all
new wiring. Now all
the switches are at arms
reach and much more user
friendly.
I got tired of the carb and
decided to go with fuel
injection. So I
gathered a 4.3 TBI unit and
all the parts needed (ECM,
Paintless wiring, harness,
and a handful or sensors).
This is the ticket for
off-road. It use to
die going downhill and load
up really bad going over the
rough and there was a lot of
gas in the oil every time I
changed it, but now it
totally out performs the
carb.
The transition works
great!!! The close
ratio gearing makes it feel
like there's more power (at
least more usable power).
I'm happy with the changes
I've made but I must move on
to another project. I
am expecting delivery of a
Tech 3
two seat rear engine rolling
chassis.
This will be their first two
seat rear engine chassis and
I'm excited to be able to
customize it to suit my
needs. I haven't
decided whether to
cannibalize my old car or
sell it. The old car
is nice but doesn't have the
suspension I want. It
also doesn't have the cushy
seats and elbow room I want
for my tired old body.
